So it looks like Chad, Kali, Faw, a couple other friends, and myself are going to a children of Bodom concert on october 20th.  I am pretty pumped.  It used to be a ritual for chad and I to hit a metal concert each summer. 

Anyways to get myself more ready for this concert I have a favor to ask for Johnathan Morgimm.  Man could you list all the metal bands you can think of that we may not have listed already in this thread.  I am really getting back into heavy music and I feel like every time i discover something new people are saying,  "well...these guys have been around for about 15 years" and I have never heard of them! 

Anyways hopefully you are experienceing somthing new with this guy.  This is more impressive than anything.  WHO HAS EVER HEARD OF SLAP GUITAR?  This guy is fucking insane!!!!!!

HOLY CRAP!  I can not believe i found this online.  While I am at it this is one of my favorite songs of all time and has been an inspiration in a couple songs we have written.  There is a delay on the guitar but what is happening is the guy is turning down the volume before he strikes the string!!!!!  It sounds so fluid its fucking amazing!  this is not a synthesizer this is this guy playing the fucking guitar!

Those of you who know who Paul Pena is might have heard this. Paul was scanning around an old short wave radio when he heard a recording of some Tuvan throat singing from northern Mongolia. He worked it into this song - Kargyraa Moan. It's a mix of traditional Tuvan style and Mississippi Delta Blues. Really astounding stuff.

So, ever since I played Brutal Legend I've been nosing around for obscure 80's era band that have thus far escaped my ear.  Here are some of the better fruits of my labors.  You probably won't enjoy these unless your an old-school NWOBHM metal fan like me.  And yes, some of the artwork is hideously awesome.  One of these bands is actually Russian, an was the first metal band given a license by the USSR to record.
